The vision for Kalathos Square Luxury Suites has its roots in my adolescent years, influenced by my summer vacations in Kalathos during my childhood. Listening to the stories of the elders in the village about the buildings that once stood in the square, three or four of which belonged to my family, all constructed before 1930. Among them stands the “Magkana,” a grand and beautiful building reminiscent of the manor house on the village’s central square, beneath the large tree, the “Pernali.” However, the passage of time has left its mark on all the village buildings, including the Magkana, which were abandoned and left to ruin. In 2018, my husband and I decided to bring to life that childhood vision of mine, which was nothing short of giving new life to these old buildings.
